Post-Disaster Mental Health Support

For Muriwai residents and surrounding communities

Below is a rolling list of free mental health supports available to residents of Muriwai Beach, and those of you who are closely connected to and/or supporting this community. If you live outside of Muriwai, we welcome you to contact the Kindred Family Centre on 09 420 7992 for support and guidance, including practical help, advocacy, financial support, and mental health support.

Friends, family, and a connected community are by far the biggest protective factors against psychological stress and trauma following an adverse event. The following resources are designed to strengthen and consolidate what our community is already doing very well… caring for each other.

Alternatively, you can phone 1737 for free, and speak with a trained counselor who specialises in disaster response settings.
